SWIM APEX

Head Coaches Calvin and Clarence founded Swim Apex Aquatic Club (formerly named as C.C.A.C. Swim School) in 2001, starting with just two classes. They quickly developed a solid reputation in achieving excellent results through strenuous teaching methods. These high-quality foundational elements have allowed Swim Apex to grow rapidly as a swim school.

Today, Swim Apex has successfully taught thousands swimmers at a variety of skill levels. The school has extended operations to include locations in Markham, Thornhill and North York. What sets Swim Apex apart from other swim schools? Three major strengths make us different: our instructor team, our focus on proper techniques, and our teaching environment.

OUR TEAM

Swim Apex’s instructor team is one of the school’s core strengths.

All programs are taught by accredited and experienced instructors. They are all fully qualified Lifesaving Society or Red Cross aquatic instructors, many with ten or more years’ teaching experience. New instructors are carefully selected and mentored through their probationary period before becoming full instructors.

This individual focus is a fundamental part to Swim Apex’s teaching style. Students often learn at different speeds and through different methods. Instructors therefore use a variety of in-water demonstrations, physical assisted manipulations, and swimming drills to ensure students are learning techniques in different perspectives. Rather than following a single form for each stroke that can be both boring and ineffective, students learn techniques in a multi-spectrum method. Instructors use the various teaching perspectives to identify and correct students’ weaknesses. Proper stroke technique is also emphasized at all times, ensuring students avoid picking up bad technique habits.

TEACHING ENVIRONMENT

While everyone wants to have fun in the pool, safety remains Swim Apex’s first priority. Instructors want students to challenge themselves physically in class and also enjoy pool games as rewards, but they are always ensuring that student safety is paramount. To this end, all Swim Apex instructors have lifesaving and first aid certifications.
